What are the main features we should know about before purchasing Derma pen?

Adjustable needle depth:
Dr. Pen microneedling devices feature adjustable needle depth, usually ranging from 0 mm to 2.5 mm or 3 mm, allowing users to customize treatments for different skin areas and concerns. Shallow depths are ideal for delicate zones like under the eyes, while deeper settings target issues such as acne scars and stretch marks, providing flexibility and precision in every session.

Serum infusion / cartridge system
Dr. Pen’s serum infusion system allows serums to flow directly through the cartridge into the skin during microneedling. The built-in serum chamber ensures deeper absorption, even distribution, and a cleaner, more efficient treatment process.
Traditional microneedling cartridges: Ice-pick style or pin-type heads (e.g., 12-pin, 18-pin) attach to the pen and you apply serum separately. They focus on creating micro-channels for collagen induction and treat deeper issues like scars or stretch marks.

Speed Levels:
Most Dr. Pen devices feature 5 to 6 adjustable speed levels, allowing control over needle vibration speed. Lower speeds suit sensitive areas, while higher speeds provide stronger penetration for thicker skin or targeted treatments.

Rechargeable / Wire Model:
The rechargeable models of Dr. Pen (often labeled “Wireless” or “W”) come with a built-in battery so you can use them without being plugged in; many also offer the option to plug in if the battery runs low. Wired models (sometimes “C” or simply no wireless label) must remain connected to a power cord during use. Choosing wireless gives you more freedom of movement; choosing wired ensures constant power without needing to recharge.

Cartridge Needles Types:
Dr. Pen cartridges come in various types, including 1-pin, 12-pin, 24-pin, 36-pin, 42-pin, and nano needles. The 1-pin cartridge, used with models like Dr. Pen A1W, targets precise areas such as acne spots or fine lines. Multi-pin cartridges cover larger areas, while nano needles are ideal for serum absorption and surface treatments without penetrating deeply.
